Childhood Injuries – crashed dirtbike & fucked up a nerve in left foot so can’t move outer toes, dislocated my neck playing jackass on the haybails, broken thumb playing basketball, tailbone (?) snowboarding behind snowmobile in Glenwood

BJJ injuries (pre 2023) – neck pain (can’t turn to see), back pain (smashed in guard, can’t carry kids), knee pain (knee bar, lifetime pain), shoulder pain (still fucked)

Bike- broke thumb, got in a real fight, hit by car
Calisthenics- fucked shoulder for 9m doing weighted pullups, tennis elbow doing OAP
Run- fucked knee after marathon, stepped on rock trail running w/Brock
Stretching- messed up wrist doing backbridge work (3 months of no lifting)
Weightlifting- threw-out back attempting 300lbs deadlift
Climbing- fell onto hold while bouldering, bruised low back, broke glasses
Construction- elbow and fingers
Mushroom Hunting- threw out back cleaning L.sulphureus all day, stung by 11 hornets
Crashed Dirtbike NODS- fucked shin

12/17/23 right knee pain on stairs. 3 days of stretching and heavy leg work on bike/treadmill

12/29/23 left knee feels slightly unstable after three days of leg work

01/??/24 right knee pain on torque when step out of car

02/??/24 left knee feels slightly unstable during pistol squats

02/20/24 very light but sharp right knee pain tons of heavy squats and rucking

3/4/24 center of leg outside front sharp knee pain with squat after pistol squats to 90*, single leg deadlifts, and squats with band at knees

3/9/24 NECK – rolled 3 very relaxed rounds. I remember discomfort from posting with my head at one point. After the third round my neck had SHARP bad pain when turning my head to the Right. All other movements are find but any movement towards R is almost impossible. Just prior to BJJ I was rolling backwards up onto my neck which may have instigated it.

3/20/24 left knee – sharp pain in half squat. yesterday did single leg deadlifts, leg mobility, and tons of longboarding and running up the hill.

3/23/24 left foot – popped a vein in left foot when kicked OP’s elbow in muay thai

7/13/24 left knee – early in the morning I pushed stroller during 20min medium-rate hill repeats. Then went to sand park and did 3 sets of 5 pistol squats along with full leg mobility. Knee felt okay until about the 6th hour of work after running up and down stairs for shoes. My knee pain was so bad that I was limping and couldn’t stand the thought of climbing stairs. When laying in bed on my R side if I lifted left knee up towards my chest pain was excruciating. Same if I was laying on L side except only when I was extending leg to straighten it. After two days pain was mostly gone.

7/15/24 right foot – when fully extending leg and pointing toes sharp/burning sensation on outside of big toe. The whole area is numb. It has been this way for at least a month now. (on 8/3) Burning sensation mostly gone, numbness not as bad. (on 12/6/24) the burning sensation is no longer present, but the outside numbness seems like it is now a forever part of my life?

12/6/24 low back – last month I did some jumping goblet squats and hurt my low back for a day. Whenever I jumped off the slackline it hurt worse. A week later I tried it again, same thing. So I decided normal goblet squats from now on. But yesterday I did a heavy 70lbs goblet squat (feeling like I didn’t wanna workout, perhaps warmup was subpar) and noticed my low backpain was back. However, I then did a 20lbs pistol squat while wearing 15lbs weight vest and it felt great so I kept going. Terrible idea, for the rest of the day I had a low ache. It hurt to carry youngest around the block, and at work I just wanted to go home and lay down.

12/22/24 low back – BAD. After sitting in the car for 4 hours, sleeping on the floor, then waking up and sitting on the stationary bike: I bent down to do a bear crawl and my low back seized up. It is very fucking bad. Hot baths, cbd, massages, I tried everything but could barely fucking move and it is now 12/24. By 12/26 I can move around more easily, stand normal, but still scared to bend because of shooting pain.

4/12/25 – LEFT KNEE burning sensation during 4 hour gravel ride. Lasted into next day but no sharp pain, just felt weird.

5/7/2025 – LEFT KNEE. Upper right inside pain on patella during 100 mile bike ride. Mile 60-80 then subsided. I would consider it “sharp”. If I pushed on the top corner of patella with my finger it was very tender. The next day this pain was gone.

6/10/2025 – Tonsillectomy.

7/8/25 – Left golfer’s elbow (inside). It has been hurting for a few weeks. Upon reflection, I believe I got too excited after tonsillectomy to start working out and failed to properly warm up, specifically the handstand. Lifting a child and handstands hurt the worse. – 8/27/25 – still hurts, been getting better as I haven’t biked outside at all, only bike where I can keep weight off my arms. I did weighted wide grip pulls yesterday and afterwards the handstand position of my hand was very painful if i pushed. 10/20/25 – mostly pain free, I’ve been doing lots of weighted exercises. Today I did heavy pullups and deadlifts, so it is a bit tender. Still scared to handstand.

8/27/25 – RIGHT SHOULDER PAIN… Muscleups and widegrip pulls at outdoor park. I think the combination of swimming and doing banded inside-to-outside with the heavy and hard green band fucked my shoulder. I haven’t been able to take off backpack without significant right shoulder pain today. Prior to that muscleups and weighted chinups have been totally fine.

7/23/25 – CRASH – Right knee deep wound, bone bruise on patella. It’s 10/20/25 and the bone bruise is still there. The knee sometimes aches when running. Skin healed but still fragile.

10/20/25 – GOOD SHOULDER – I find it interesting that my R shoulder feels completely pain free after a month where I didn’t have my computer set up (so I didn’t use my mouse or keyboard) and I completely stopped biking to focus on running (no upwards jarring from riding).

Heart

8/1/24 – After a trainer ride (15min warmup, 30min @ 130bpm) my chest felt a little fluttery. Off and on light flutters but feel good until 8/3 during a boxing & weight workout when chest is irregularly fluttering with palpable skipped beats…. BUT, I just realized that it may have to do with stress. The past few months have been amazing (both life-wise and heart-wise). However, this month a bunch of people were laid off at wifes job, questioning my own career, and super sleep deprived because of therapeeee.

12/3/2024 – While laying on left side trying to fall asleep I felt PVC’s hit for about 30 seconds but after rolling over they disappeared. I had taken magnesium L threonate the two previous nights (I don’t think it is related but it was new for the past two months) and I rode my bike 90 minutes and a pretty hard pace earlier that morning. Lots of low-level stress hitting me lately too. Two days later I haven’t had any more noticeable PVC’s.

12/17/24 – While working out (handstands and heavy pullups) I had a couple PVC’s. Two days prior had a significant negative life event that kept me up until 3am. Then I worked all weekend (holidays) and then I stressed about mycology club that Monday evening. This morning when I woke up I took a full scoop of Matcha which is a crap ton of caffeine for me. Perhaps the accumulation of everything sparked some PVC’s? A week prior I had taken sleep magnesium a few times (hadn’t taken it for months) and had a couple random PVC’s too. I just have this weird feeling that they might be connected. My heart seems fine by noon.

2/25/25 – Many stressful life events = new dog (and the yelling), myco club, leading a scheels pk, teaching a South East Tech class, the boys have been truly insane. Came a few weeks after starting new vegan low processed diet (not related, just noting). Hadn’t taken magnesium or Ltheanine since last episode so probably not related to that. Sleep was good. Exercising normal. I think the biggest cue is that I’ve had some anger explosions meaning I am dealing with truly insane levels of stress. The worst was a PVC ever 3-5 beats and it lasted 4 days (2/28). Ironically that night I took mag and ltheanine cuz I didn’t give a fuck anymore and slept hard as hell. THE NEXT DAY SOMETHING WIERD HAPPENED. All day I would get a low level chest pain that would come for 1-2 seconds then go away for 4-10 minutes. Sometimes the pain would rise and fall for 10 seconds but it went on like this for the evening prior and all day 3/1. On 3/2 I woke up and haven’t noticed it for first 35 min. Will update if it comes back. Pain is like a 2/10 but absolutely noticeable. I considered going into ER.

4/12/25 – Took a crap ton of caffeine (full scoop matcha + a bit of preworkout) before a heavy calisthenics’ day. PVC’s started within an hour, mostly 1 every 10ish beats but I didn’t notice later in the evening and by morning my chest feels normal… JK, it is now 4/21/25 and the PVC’s have been on and off. Currently on the bike 110 bpm seems to be the underlying rate but, via palpitation I counted 40 skipped beats in 1 minute!?!?!? My chest feels pretty shitty. Almost immediately when I was done biking my chest felt normal again. I also noticed from an old cronometer post that my daily intake of calcium was lower than recommended. I’m gonna finish off my CA-AKG and see if my PVC’s go away. How hilarious would it be if I diagnosed myself with hypocalcemia and fixed my problems? All these heart scans and medicine could have been avoided by a simple blood check! Lol… I’m not that lucky though….. Jumped on the bike again and finding my PVC’s, positional? Sitting up on trainer with a cool head (96bpm) and I can keep PVC’s to two a minute but leaning forward onto my elbows in aero position makes my heart feel horrible…. 4/23/25 massive puking and diarrhea! It is made worse by my damn heart skipping 4/24/25 been slamming salt/potassium pouches in my water for illness, took mag and l-theanine last night for sleep. Woke up no palps. Just finished a 4x4x4 on bike, no palps. Decided to ride bike into work chest emptiness started almost instantly. Palpated multiple PVC’s every minute at work. Got so bad couldn’t fall asleep. Chest felt totally hollow. 4/25/25 Woke up, no PVC’s but chest feels…. tired? Afraid to workout because I don’t want them to start again. 4/26 yesterday i said fuck it I will try anything, found this link, researched some other at-home remedies, and went for it: Magnesium Gluconate, Iron, salt/potassium drink mix, sundried tomatoes (potassium), Ca/AKG (just cuz I had it on hand), ashwaganda (calming), taurine (calming), and lots of water. I woke up this morning 4/26 and biked 40miles 136 bpm, heart felt good but is still skipping. Give it a week or two? 5/1 – spent last couple days at parents’ house, taking supplements, 2 hrs of biking, 2 hrs exercise, yesterday 55mile hard bike ride, this morning 1 hr ride at 84 bpm. Had no pvcs until just after workout. 4 per 60 beats….. 5/7 pvc’s at morning workout then 1 PVC every 4th beat during group bike ride. 5/8 – not a single pvc noticed all day…. NO PVC’s FOR A FEW DAYS 5/19 but my chest would feel sorta wierd everyso often and jumping on the bike, zone 1, I just had 1 pvc per 100 beats.

5/28 – well that was short lived. I took the boys solo for 5 days of camping and traveling. After some stressful days, green shitty sleep, and lots of driving my PVC’s came back. Kindof on and off for a week until 9/3 when I decided to start measuring again. Seems like roughly 8-12 pvcs per 100 beats. Not all day, but definitely worse when I am being active. 6/4 – Super hard 40 mile group ride before bed left me feeling amazing but I woke up (after a scary dream) in the middle of the night to pee and my chest felt hollow. Every third heart beat was a PVC :(… got a bad fever last night, sweats. Woke up chest feeling like shit. 16% of my heart beats currently are PVC’s….. well fuckity fuckin ballsacks. I got a wicked case of strep and got an abscess on top of it. When my new handheld ECG arrived it said I was pumpin out 12-18 pvc’s PER MINUTE. Wtf? Now, being sick seems to make them worse but I didn’t expect that they were all hiding at the end of the QRS wave which leads me to wonder if I have had them 24-7 all year long, just unable to palpate them. Mmhhhm. Good news???? I met a shredded AF doctor who started to have PVC’s when he got covid and was passionate about treating them without medications. His recommendation? Bioptimizers Magnesium Breakthrough. He talked a lot about functional medicine and how the medical field is changing. He also recommended John Sarno’s book “Mind Body Prescription”. He also noted that my previous cardiologist Stisch is quite strict and likely won’t recommend anything other than betablockers which is disheartening. On 6/15 I woke up and chest feels good but ECG still shows about 10 pvc’s per minute… Don’t forget that most of the shit you read online is complete bull. This cardiologist has some epic recommendations for treating PVC’s (ie. they might just disappear when you are less stressed!) See here: TheSkepticalCardiologist.com.

7/8/25 – ummm, WTF!? They are gone. The Biooptimizer magnesium work after just two days. Sleep has been fucking incredible. Heart hasn’t skipped a beat once!?!?!?!?!?!

10/26/25 – I had a short run of one or two of PVC’s today that take place when I carry both children and wrestle. Yesterday I did a 4hr bike ride trying to push the pace. The prior 4 days I had tough workouts without a rest day. 10/27 – per ECG I had 2 pvc’s (and i felt them in chest) in 30s strip. Did a zone 2 bodybuilder workout for 20min and felt good. 11/2/25 I’ve had some PVC’s but nothing obvious or uncomfortable. After riding a 100mile ride today my heart was racing over 100bpm even though I was just making food. EKG said “Trigeminal PVCs”, I counted 6 per 30sec strip. Drank tons of water to rehydrate and feeling good an hour later.
